Slip Away Farm is a small-scale vegetable and flower farm located on Chappaquiddick, a little island separated from Martha’s Vineyard by a 527-foot ferry ride. Our goal is to produce high quality, organically grown flowers, fruits and vegetables for our Island community.
Lily Walter started Slip Away Farm in 2012 with the help of her brother Christian and her good friend Collins Heavener. We began the farm on a one-acre lease in Katama on Martha’s Vineyard, delivering vegetables to Chappaquiddick residents by bicycle. In 2013, we moved Slip Away to the Marshall Farm on Chappy, a property owned collaboratively by the Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank and the Vineyard Trust.
We recognize and honor that this land is the ancestral and contemporary homeland of the Chappaquiddick Wampanoag tribe. Please consider donating to the tribe to support their current work and reparations.
We now run an 85-member vegetable CSA, a 55-member flower CSA, and a self-serve farm stand located in Chappy’s original one-room schoolhouse.
