Our original farm property is now the foundation for two businesses: Slip Away Farm and Marshall Farm Wood-Works, a small furniture company owned by Collins Heavener.
In the fall of 2019, MFWW moved operations into a newly constructed timber frame barn. Located a stone’s throw from the original workshop in the basement of our 18th century farmhouse, the barn is the culmination of many years of planning and building to create a dream furniture studio.
Every stick of the barn—frame, sheathing, flooring, trim, doors—was harvested as a tree by Collins or a local arborist and milled into lumber on-site using MFWW’s portable sawmill.
On occasion, MFWW furniture is on display in the Slip Away farm stand. Stop by to visit or contact Collins if you would like to see what is on the workbench.
